Sheraton Grand Mirage Resort Port Douglas

Everybody’s idea of paradise looks a little different. For me, it’s swaying palm trees, waves lapping on sandy shores, and pristine crystal-clear waters. With this in mind, my stay at the beachfront Sheraton Grand Mirage Resort Port Douglas felt a lot like paradise, all without the long, expensive flight and dreaded jet lag attached.

THE ROOM.

Resort chic is the aesthetic of the resort’s 295 guest rooms and suites, all designed with a considered neutral palette that makes the generously-sized room feels light and bright and fitting with its tropical surrounds. Of course with the resort’s lagoon-style pools the star of the show, upgrading to one of the lagoon view or swim-up rooms is well worth considering to feel ultra relaxed.

AMENITIES.

For many the resort’s lagoon-style pools is the deciding factor in why guests select to stay at the resort, and it is not difficult to see why. Spread over two hectares, it is not usual to float the day away with no one else around. Plus, with a swim up pool bar, private poolside cabanas dotted around, and rooms and suites with direct lagoon access, resort life really does resolve around the pool.

DINING.

HARRISONS RESTAURANT

A stay at the resort is simply not complete without a dining experience at the highly-awarded Harrisons Restaurant. By day, the terrace surrounded by the resort’s most expansive lagoon-style pool is the ideal setting for a long lunch, whilst when the sun sets dining in the grand dining room feels like the perfect finish to another day in paradise.

FEAST RESTAURANT

Open for breakfast, lunch and dinner, the resort’s Feast Restaurant is a welcoming all-day ‘gathering place’. It is where most guests begin their day with buffet breakfast served here daily as well as come for a true feast when the resort’s weekly seafood buffet is on.

LAGOON HOUSE RESTAURANT

Situated a stone’s throw from Four Mile Beach, the Lagoon House Restaurant invites guests to savour delicious pan-Asian fare that highlights local Queensland produce in truly relaxed al fresco setting.
